Film Analysis:
Tairiq Stewart plays with a high level of physicality in the trenches. He possesses good, raw physical strength and power to torque/turn defenders in the run game. Stewart’s physicality and aggressiveness are easy to notice on film. He has a finisher mentality and blocks with good effort until the whistle blows. He showcases the lateral agility and athleticism needed to mirror defenders. Stewart can recover around the outside arc well to keep the quarterback clean. He displays a good burst/get-off at the snap on both run and passing plays. His hands are strong enough to latch onto his opponent and lessen any momentum created.
Stewart has to improve his hand technique in pass protection. His hands are wide and punches are inconsistent at best. Stewart exposes his chest to defenders allowing them the advantage of driving him backward if their strikes land. Although he is naturally strong, his frame could use some extra mass by bulking up. It works against the lower level of competition he faces but is a concern against NFL defensive linemen. On running plays, I would like to see Stewart run his feet more to displace defenders. He has the raw strength to do it.
Stewart projects best as a swing tackle early in his career with guard versatility. His arm measurements will be pivotal for his projection to the next level. He could develop faster if reduced inside at guard.
