Film Analysis:
Khyree Jackson enjoyed an outstanding collegiate career and now looks to take the next step to the NFL. Jackson originally attended Fort Scott Community College out of high school in 2019 and then signed to Alabama as the nation's No. 1 JUCO recruit. Jackson went on to play a significant role at Alabama in 2021 and 2022 before then transferring to Oregon in 2023 to play his final year of college football.
Jackson started every game for the Ducks this season and mainly aligned outside, where he was tasked to cover opposing teams' No. 1 receivers. Jackson has outstanding size and length and is an excellent overall athlete. Jackson is an excellent cover corner who can play any style of coverage. He is best in press man, where he uses his length to win off the line and disrupt the receiver’s route throughout the stem. He is a physical corner who will challenge the receiver throughout the route and at the catch point where he is excellent as he utilizes his length to win the football.
While Jackson’s physicality is something evaluators will love about his game, it also gets him into trouble. Jackson is extremely handsy in coverage and that leads to a fair number of penalties.
Jackson has good overall speed and athleticism and can mirror and stay in phase against most receivers. There are times when quicker receivers can give him fits at the breakpoint as he struggles to change direction at the top of the route as he is a leggy corner. He is a fluid mover for a corner with his length but will gather when forced to stop and start.
Jackson has excellent instincts in zone coverage and has good quickness when closing on the football. He flashes outstanding ball skills and hands, which is evident by his number of interceptions in his final year at Oregon.
Jackson is a good run defender who shows a willingness to tackle. He lacks the strength to take on and shed blocks but he shows good effort in this regard.
Overall, Jackson is a long and athletic coverman who has an NFL skill set. He is best used on the boundary where he can use his length to his advantage and hide his limited change of direction. Jackson has all the makings of a productive NFL starter.
