Film Analysis:

Jarvis Brownlee Jr. is a competitive defensive back who has the skill set to be a solid contributor at the next level. Brownlee started his career at Florida State before transferring to Louisville for his final two seasons. Brownlee started most of his career at outside corner but played some snaps inside at nickel, which is where he will likely spend most of his time in the NFL.

Brownlee has just average size, length, and overall athleticism. He has a lean build and lacks play strength. He has just average speed overall but has very quick feet and good change of direction. Brownlee is a competitive player who plays with an aggression that helps him overcome his size deficiencies in both phases of the game.

In coverage, Brownlee is at his best when pressed up at the line of scrimmage, where he displays good punch timing and placement to disrupt the receiver off the line. He has very good feet to mirror route patterns in man and has good quickness to stay in phase in the short and intermediate areas of the field. Brownlee displays excellent instincts and can read route patterns easily, which allows him to run the route with the receiver and beat his opponent to the football.

Brownlee struggles when facing bigger receivers who can out-physical him throughout the stem. He lacks the length and strength to be competitive at the catch point and in 50/50 situations. He has just average speed and is at a disadvantage when facing receivers who have a clear runway off the line of scrimmage. Brownlee is good in zone coverage, flashing zone awareness, and short-area quickness to make plays on the football. He has above-average overall ball skills and has solid hands.

In the run game, Brownlee is quick to trigger and loves to throw his body around even if he takes more of the punishment than he gives. He takes good angles to the football and is an above-average tackler.

Overall, Brownlee projects as a feisty nickel corner who displays the toughness and foot quickness to excel inside at the next level.
