The 2025 Senior Bowl will provide an opportunity for NFL draft prospects to prove themselves on the largest pre-draft stage. TCU wide receiver Jack Bech plans on taking full advantage. Bech recently spoke exclusively with the Senior Bowl and Draft Network to discuss his motivation for accepting his invitation to compete in Mobile, Alabama.

Bech also discussed what he's striving to prove to NFL general managers and scouts in attendance at the Senior Bowl, his breakout season, how he’d write his own scouting report, and more. Let's get to know Bech better ahead of his journey to the Senior Bowl.

JM: Where were you when you found out about your Senior Bowl invite and what was your initial reaction?

Jack Bech: I was with a few buddies. I was so excited to learn I got the Senior Bowl invite. It’s obviously a huge honor to participate in such a prestigious event alongside some of the best prospects in the country. I’m super excited to go dominate and show everyone what I’m made of.

JM: What motivated you to accept the Senior Bowl’s offer?

Jack Bech: There isn’t a better bowl game you could be invited to as a draft-eligible junior or senior. When I got the invite, I knew right away that I was going to accept it. It was something I wanted to be a part of.

JM: What are you hoping to prove to NFL general managers, coaching staffs, and scouts in attendance in Mobile?

Jack Bech: I want to prove that I’m a dog. It doesn’t matter who you put in front of me. I’m going to go out there, be myself, and stay true to what I do. I can dominate against the best guys in college football.

JM: How would Jack Bech write his own scouting report? What are your traits and abilities as a receiver? Self-scout yourself for us.

Jack Bech: I’m big, physical, and nasty at the point of contact. I love running people into the ground when I’m blocking. Obviously, I love scoring touchdowns, but I equally love dumping somebody into the dirt as a blocker.

I love high-pointing the football and all of the nuances of the game. I love sitting in zones or beating somebody one-on-one in coverage. It’s me versus you. Who’s going to win? I love every opportunity I get to go be great.

JM: Does Jack Bech have a favorite route to run?

Jack Bech: I like every route. I definitely love the slant route or the fade route. Our coaching staff at TCU always told us that you should always win with a slant or fade route, no matter the coverage.

JM: Talk to me about how satisfying this past season was. You transferred from LSU a few seasons ago.  You had the injury in 2023. You come back in 2024 and record over 1,000 receiving yards while rewriting the record books. You scored nine touchdowns. It must have felt great.

Jack Bech: It felt good to see everything come to fruition. My faith had been tested. Trials and tribulations could take you down one of two roads. You either ask why is this happening to me or you could get stronger and grow from it. That was the road I took.

I dug deep into my faith. I worked harder than anyone else around me. It felt great to see it come together. God had a plan for me. This was his plan for me. I’m so thankful and appreciative.

He picked me to write this story. I can’t wait for the next chapter.

JM: We love that. You’re super versatile. Do you think you’ll be an “X” receiver at the next level? Are you a natural slot?

Jack Bech: I can play anywhere. I can play solo to the boundary as an outside receiver. I could play as the “Z” or as the slot as well. I’ve even played as an H-back. I’ve played it all. I’ve done it at a high level. I understand the nuances of the game. I’ve seen different coverages from the slot.

I can convert and move the chains. When I play outside, I use my big frame to attack the ball. I’m a running back when I get the ball in my hands. I don’t go down easy. I can play as an H-back and be a blocker. I’ll put my face in the mud and get down and dirty in the trenches.

Whatever it may be, I’m here for it.

JM: That’s a terrific, in-depth answer. What’s on Jack Bech’s pre-game playlist?

Jack Bech: A bunch of Lil’ Wayne and NBA Youngboy. I mix in some country music as well, to calm my nerves down a little bit. When the game gets closer, I start bumping Lil Wayne and Youngboy.

JM: This has been an amazing conversation. At the end of the week, what does a successful Senior Bowl look like for Jack Bech?

Jack Bech: I’m going to put my best foot forward. I’m going to be praying. My faith will be at an all-time high. All of our stories have already been written in the stars. I’m going to stay true to my plan by outworking everybody out there.

I’m going to dominate by being the best player on and off that field.
