The Draft Network’s Ryan Fowler recently released his latest 2025 NFL mock draft. Our Draft Network Top 100 prospect rankings have served as a reference point for his analysis and decisions. It’s mock draft season here at The Draft Network, with weekly iterations dropping every Sunday evening.
I’ve been selected to dissect Fowler’s mock. I've identified my favorite selections, scheme fits, and the best prospect not selected. I also have some question marks. Let’s dive into The Draft Network’s latest 2025 NFL mock draft.
Favorite Pick: Mike Green, EDGE, Detroit Lions (No. 28 overall)
Mike Green was downright dominant at the Senior Bowl. The Marshall standout put competition questions to bed while establishing himself as a first-round selection. Marshall routinely embarrassed offensive linemen in one-on-one reps.
The Detroit Lions desperately need pass rushers not named Aidan Hutchinson. Both Hutchinson and Alim McNeill are recovering from season-ending injuries. It'd be important for an edge defender like Green to hit the ground running for Dan Campbell in 2025.
Biggest Question Mark: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Los Angeles Rams (No. 26 overall)
Do the Los Angeles Rams value the off-ball linebacker position enough to select Jihaad Campbell in the first round? Last year, they traded high-end starter Ernest Jones IV to avoid signing him to an extension. They then inserted undrafted free agent Omar Speights into their starting lineup.
The Rams will likely use this selection on offense. Cooper Kupp is being traded this offseason, and quarterback Matthew Stafford is also rumored to be in the mix. Sean McVay needs to start retooling his offensive personnel, which begins with this pick.
Best Scheme Fit: Donovan Jackson, OL, Seattle Seahawks (No. 18 overall)
The Seattle Seahawks need to improve their offensive line this offseason. They hired Klint Kubiak as their new offensive coordinator to help them achieve that. Upgrades are especially needed across the interior, where a bunch of struggling young blockers are currently penciled into starting roles.
Donovan Jackson would be plug-and-play in Seattle. Although he concluded the season at tackle for the National Championship-winning Ohio State program, his ideal fit is at guard, his most natural position. Mike Macdonald would be thrilled to have him.
Best Value: Malaki Starks, SAF, Buffalo Bills (No. 30 overall)
Georgia safety Malaki Starks may be the victim of prospect fatigue. Starks is one of the best overall prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. The versatile weapon is capable of playing any position in the defensive backfield, including boundary cornerback.
The Buffalo Bills require additional defensive chess pieces if they're to get past the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason. The Philadelphia Eagles laid the blueprint for how to defeat the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. General manager Brandon Beane must invest heavily in his defense to support Josh Allen's offense this offseason.
Best Player Not Selected: James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee
James Pearce Jr. entered the college football season as a potential No. 1 overall selection. Pearce Jr. didn’t meet those lofty expectations, but he still displayed his athleticism and pass-rushing upside by recording 7.5 sacks and a positive pass-rush win rate (PRWR).
There are question marks over his ability to defend the run, but he’s still a first-round prospect on tape.
