The 2025 NFL Draft features an incredibly deep class of linebacker prospects. After speaking at the podium earlier in the week at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine, it was finally time for the off-ball linebacker prospects to display their athleticism via on-field testing workouts. They did not disappoint.

The upcoming linebacker class possesses athletes of all shapes and sizes. Plug-and-play prospects are available at the position, and that was very evident in Indianapolis. We've identified which off-ball linebackers maximized their opportunity at this year’s NFL Combine.

Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

Jihaad Campbell, arguably the best off-ball linebacker prospect in the class, did not disappoint in Indianapolis. The long, rangy, and instinctive defender displayed uber athleticism and excellent change of direction during the wave drill. Campbell ran a 4.52 40, the third-best result among all linebackers. He also ranked third in the 10-yard split (1.53) and second in the broad jump (10-foot-7). The Alabama standout should be a first-round pick come April.

Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA

It was a bummer that Carson Schwesinger wasn't healthy enough to participate in this year's Senior Bowl, but his NFL Combine performance proved worth the anticipation. The sideline-to-sideline linebacker leaped a 39.5-inch vertical, ranking 26th among all linebackers to attend the combine since 2003, per Next Gen Stats. Schwesinger triggers downhill with well-developed instincts and a violent, physical temperament.

Eugene Asante, LB, Auburn

Eugene Asante arrived at Lucas Oil Stadium as one of the more underrated linebackers in the class. Hopefully, that's no longer the case. Asante was absolutely flying in the 40-yard dash, running a 4.48 (only bested by Kain Medrano's 4.46), the fourth-fastest result when including last year’s linebacker group. The flexible Auburn defender also tied for a position-best 1.52 10-yard split. The same speed-to-trigger is evident when combing through his 2023 and 2024 campaigns, where he recorded 133 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks.

Nick Martin, LB, Oklahoma State

It was refreshing to see Nick Martin healthy after injury forced him to miss more than half of the 2024 season. He reminded scouts that he's among the most explosive linebacker prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. Martin ran a super-fast 4.53 40 (fifth-best) with a 1.54 10-yard split to boot. The Oklahoma State standout also leaped a 38-inch vertical and 10-foot-3 broad, securing top-five results in every drill he participated in.

Teddye Buchanan, LB, California

Have a day, Teddye Buchanan! The underrated off-ball defender leaped a position-best 40-inch vertical, which would have also sat atop last year's linebacker leaderboard. Buchanan also jumped a 10-foot-5 broad, ranking third behind just Smael Mondon Jr. (10-foot-10) and Campbell. The San Francisco native, who had 114 tackles in 2024, made a name for himself in Indianapolis.

Smael Mondon Jr., LB, Georgia

Speaking of Mondon Jr., his position-topping 10-foot-10 broad wasn’t his lone eye-opening result. His 4.58 40 was stellar, but his linebacker-best 1.52 10-yard split was even more notable, measuring his short-area explosion. Mondon Jr. is a full-speed linebacker with range and coverage ability.
