The Big 12 will hold its inaugural conference-wide Pro Day in Frisco, Texas at the Ford Center at The Star from March 27-31 ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. A total of 137 prospects will participate.
The Big 12 Pro Day has an opportunity to make a massive impact while altering the pre-draft process. Just imagine if other conferences follow suit. We've identified five offensive prospects who can improve their pre-draft stock.
EMANI BAILEY, RB, TCU
Emani Bailey did not test particularly well at the NFL Combine. The TCU Horned Frogs standout ran a 4.61 40 and posted poor lower-body explosion testing results as well. The Big 12 Pro Day will represent Bailey's opportunity to redo and improve some of the lackluster results he scored in Indianapolis.
On tape, Bailey is an electric ball-carrier who appears capable of scoring a touchdown on every attempt. Bailey rushed for a career-high 1,209 yards and eight touchdowns this past season. Bailey is a better prospect than the NFL Combine indicated.
BEN SINNOTT, TE, KANSAS STATE
Ben Sinnott was one of the most surprising testers at the NFL Combine. He proved he's a better-than-advertised athlete with a 40-inch vertical and 10-foot-6 broad jump. NFL scouts will be eager to watch Sinnott perform for a second time at Pro Day.
Sinnott took a sizable step forward in 2023 by totaling 49 receptions for 676 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Sinnott has proved he's an athletic weapon in the passing game. He doubles as an alignment-versatile prospect who can play attached to the line of scrimmage. Sinnott will continue elevating his pre-draft stock throughout the process.
JAVON BAKER, WR, UCF
One of the most underrated receivers in the 2024 NFL Draft, decision-makers should treasure every opportunity they get to watch Javon Baker perform throughout this process. Baker is an outstanding route-runner who also excels in contested catch situations. Baker effortlessly tracks deep shots and finishes with a massive catch radius.
The focal point of UCF's offense this past campaign, Baker exploded for 1,139 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. The Atlanta, Georgia native could use the Big 12 Pro Day to improve a 7.71 Relative Athletic Score. Baker is plenty athletic.
JARED WILEY, TE, TCU
Jared Wiley should reinforce what he displayed at the NFL Combine. The 6-foot-6, 249-pound vertical playmaker ran an elite 4.62 40 with a 1.62 10-yard split. Wiley also had an explosive 37-inch vertical.
Wiley utilizes speed and a big frame to box out defenders as a reliable target for his quarterback. The Horned Frogs standout took a step forward as a pass catcher in 2023, posting personal bests in receptions (47), receiving yards (520), touchdowns (8), and yards per catch (11.1, minimum qualifiers). Wiley is getting drafted earlier than most realize.
DEVIN CARTER, WR, WEST VIRGINIA
West Virginia's Carter is an underrated gem. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 214 pounds (official measurements to be determined), Carter is a big-bodied vertical playmaker that should intrigue NFL teams. A consistent red-zone threat, Carter scored 12 touchdowns across the previous four seasons.
Carter averaged an explosive 18.6 yards per reception this campaign. That was in line with his yearly averages in 2022 (16.2), 2021 (17.9), and 2020 (16.4). Scouts will pay close attention to Carter's testing results to see if his athletic profile matches.
