Don’t sleep on Georgia wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint throughout this process. Rosemy-Jacksaint took a step forward for the Bulldogs this season, recording career highs in receptions (34), receiving yards (535) and touchdowns (4). Rosemy-Jacksaint is a big-bodied receiver with terrific measurements.
Rosemy-Jacksaint recently spoke exclusively with The Draft Network about the attention he’s receiving from NFL scouts, how he uses size to his advantage, which teams are showing interest in his services, and more.
JM: I thought you were one of the most underrated performers at this year’s Senior Bowl. Have you noticed an uptick in attention from NFL scouts you’ve been receiving since then?
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: I’ve definitely been receiving more attention from NFL teams since then. I’ve started hearing from more teams since then. The process has been really good to me. The Senior Bowl gave me an opportunity to put my name out there.
I was trying to show the scouts what I’m all about. My agent and I have definitely been hearing from more NFL decision-makers since then.
JM: You took a step forward at Georgia this year, totaling career-highs in receptions (34), receiving yards (535), and touchdowns (4). What led to the increase in production?
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: That was about me stepping up to the plate and filling the shoes of players who were no longer at the program. I played a bigger role on the offense. Ladd McConkey was a big part of the offense for example. He wasn’t available for most of the season.
That led to more opportunities for me in the passing game. We needed somebody to fill that role. [Offensive coordinator] Coach [Mike] Bobo does a great job utilizing his players. He put me in a position to succeed and make plays. That’s exactly what he did for me and a lot of our other players as well.
There’s a lot that went into the new-found production. The injury to McConkey and coach Bobo were big reasons behind me playing an increased role. We also had a great quarterback in Carson Beck, a first-year starter. He went out there and rallied the guys.
Carson Beck was looking for players he could trust. I feel like I was one of his guys. We built a great rapport with one another. All of those things combined to lead to a successful season for me.
JM: You have outstanding size for the position. You’re 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds with 33-inch arms and 10-inch hands. How do you use size to your advantage?
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: That’s the thing. I’ve never been a super-fast guy with 4.2 speed. That’s just not my game. I’ve always relied on technique more than anything. Using my size to box out my opponents at the catch point has always been a big part of my game.
I use my long arms to highpoint the football. Most defensive backs can’t match my size or my length. I can beat a defensive back at the catch point. Having strong hands helps. I love utilizing size to my advantage.
JM: We love the way you use your size on tape. Does Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint have a favorite route to run?
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: The whole route tree, man (laughs). I just love running routes in general. I’ve never felt like I had one specific route that I liked running more than others. I love the entire route tree.
JM: Can you see yourself playing that “Big Slot” position at the next level?
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: Oh yeah, definitely. I feel like I can play inside and outside. I can play slot receiver, or I can play as a boundary receiver. It doesn’t matter where you line me up at. I’m going to make plays and get the job done regardless.
JM: Have you met with any NFL teams in person or virtually since the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine?
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: I’ve met with a few teams both in person and through Zoom. I met with all 32 teams at the Senior Bowl for example. I’ve met with more teams since then. I met with the Cardinals, Steelers, Cowboys, Lions and Jaguars recently. I’m going to be participating at the Dolphins and Falcons local days as well.
JM: There’s a lot of interest in you and it’s easy to see why. We’ve appreciated your time today. What kind of impact is Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint going to make at the next level?
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: I feel like I have the ability to help install a winning culture in the locker room. We won a lot of games at Georgia and I understand what it takes to be successful. I’m also a tough football player that wants all of his teammates to be physically tough as well, especially in the receiver room.
Being tough, that’s my motto, that’s my game. I feel like I bring that to the receiver room. It’s an infectious mindset. I can play special teams, I can play every receiver position. I can play just about anywhere.
I’m a hard worker. I set the example by working hard and making plays.
