The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the more disappointing teams this year, sitting near the bottom of the league standings and close to the top of the draft board. Since drafting “generational talent” Trevor Lawrence, the Jaguars’ win/loss record has been a roller coaster. Just when everyone thinks they have a read on the Jaguars, they remind us they may be the NFL’s most unpredictable franchise.
Offensively, the strategy of putting the football in Lawrence’s hands and letting him throw 30-plus times per game hasn’t proven to be a consistent recipe for wins. While Lawrence is having a solid season on paper with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions, the Jaguars remain among the worst teams in the NFL.
It’s well-documented that success in the NFL starts in the trenches, and the Jaguars are on track to lose a couple of starters on the offensive line (OT and IOL) to free agency after this season. Given this situation, the Jaguars need to prioritize drafting offensive linemen who can immediately contribute at a high level to help the team find sustained success. Here are three prospects who would be great fits for the Jaguars in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Will Campbell, OT, LSU
Will Campbell has been in the conversation as the best OT in the 2025 NFL Draft since the end of the 2024 NFL Draft. Campbell is a three-year starter at one of the top programs in the country, LSU. More importantly, he has experience protecting high-caliber quarterbacks like Jayden Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier, which means he understands the pressure of being the blindside protector for a franchise QB and is comfortable in that role.
Campbell’s natural strength allows him to overwhelm edge rushers, making him a true anchor for an offensive line. Tough and gritty, Campbell would elevate any offensive line’s toughness. Additionally, he’s an active, dominant force in the run game, which would help the Jaguars be more consistent in running the football. Campbell may require a first-round pick, but he’d be worth it for the Jaguars in the long run.
Emery Jones, OT, LSU
Playing on the opposite side of Campbell, Emery Jones is equally talented and brings unique value to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Among NFL evaluators, Jones may actually be better suited as an OG in the NFL, which could be exactly what the Jaguars need. With a few starting spots expected to open up on their line, OG will be a position of need. Jones offers versatility, as he can play guard or right tackle, giving the Jaguars flexibility in building their best possible offensive line to protect Trevor Lawrence.
Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
This offensive line draft class is challenging to gauge, as many players are closely ranked, making it hard to predict who will go early in the first round or fall to the second. However, I believe Blake Miller is a strong candidate the Jaguars could target in the second round. Miller has elevated his play significantly this year and appears to be a plug-and-play right tackle prospect.
With the Jaguars losing an OT to free agency next year and facing needs in other positions, selecting another player in the first round and targeting someone like Miller in the second could be a smart move. Miller would offer the Jaguars an immediate starter and help solidify their line.
