As the regular season concludes for Boston College, the draft process for a few athletes inherently kicks into high gear. For Donovan Ezeiruaku, one of the ACC’s leaders in pressures (59) and first in the conference in sacks (14), he’s become a force that has consistently disrupted opposing offenses, and a name to become familiar with.

At 6-foot-3 and 233 pounds (verified measurements), Ezeiruaku is a blend of twitch, athleticism, and flexibility off the edge that has become a consistent talking point when discussing the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft and the eligible group of sack artists. Primarily aligned at five-tech (outside shoulder of the OT), Ezeiruaku has showcased good bend and ankle flexion to threaten the outside with consistency, including a refined and ever-improving pass-rush repertoire. While the long-time Boston College Eagle has lived at the five, he’s been best when aligned as a wide-nine rusher with a direct route to the pocket.

By working at such an extended angle, Ezeiruaku’s ability to force lineman to turn their shoulders square to his frame allows him to showcase an inside move that has proved successful all campaign long. Specifically, in his final two starts to finish his senior season.

It’s been a dominant run for the Williamstown, New Jersey native, who is now expected to take the next step, enter the pre-draft process, and continue to prove to NFL scouts why his name should continue to pop in day-one conversations.

For Boston College, the list of NFL talent that has come out of Chestnut Hill is a long one. Despite recent first-rounders in wideout Zay Flowers to guards Zion Johnson and Chris Lindstrom, to second-round running back AJ Dillon, or all the way back to quarterback Matt Ryan and linebacker Luke Kuechly, the program isn’t annually considered one of college football’s most successful. Yet, it has become a pipeline each spring for teams to find core and contributing talent.

For Ezeiruaku, he’s their premier prospect in the 2025 class, alongside OT Ozzy Trapilo who will attend the Senior Bowl. And while the pool of front-seven talent is loaded at the top, with depth throughout the draft, Ezeiruaku has a shot to continue to rise on boards when helmets are put up and the pre-draft process of the combine, interviews, and visits take place beyond the new year.

Initially evaluated as a fringe day-three pick with upside during the summer, Ezeiruaku’s production and projectability have reached new heights. And while there are twitchier, more powerful, more refined, and other defenders that have more of a clearer projection as a three-down defender at this point in time, Ezeiruaku—who is also expected to thoroughly impress during interviews—is a rising prospect whose final season at Boston College showcases a player primed to make an impact on Sundays.
