The NFL released the complete list of players voted to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games on Thursday. This year's iteration of the annual all-star event will begin in Central Florida on Jan. 30 with the flag football game to be played on Feb. 2. As usual, snubs dominate the post-roster reveal conversation.
We've identified the five biggest snubs.
Baker Mayfield, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Baker Mayfield has been elite for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season. The gunslinging signal-caller currently ranks third in the league in passing yards (4,279), is tied for second in touchdown passes (39), and is tied for second in completion percentage (71.7%). Mayfield is overseeing the fourth-highest-scoring offense in the NFL, averaging 29.7 points per game.
The Buccaneers will clinch the NFC South with a victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 18. Sam Darnold and Jayden Daniels beat out Mayfield for reserve spots as the quarterbacks on the NFC roster behind voted starter Jared Goff. Mayfield deserved a nod.
Danielle Hunter, EDGE, Houston Texans
Danielle Hunter has met expectations with the Houston Texans after signing a multi-year contract worth nearly $25 million per year. Hunter has been harassing quarterbacks all season long, leading the league in pressures with 90. The former LSU standout has a pressure rate of 19.3%, tied for first place with Micah Parsons in that category.
Hunter's 12 sacks rank third in the NFL behind co-leaders Myles Garrett and Trey Hendrickson. The Texans are winning the AFC South with ease and heading to the postseason. Hunter's omission is truly head-scratching.
Trent McDuffie, CB, Kansas City Chiefs
It's rare to see a Kansas City Chief snubbed, but Trent McDuffie was a victim this year. McDuffie has been elite in coverage, allowing just 51 receptions on 84 targets, according to Pro Football Focus. His coverage grade of 80.6 is sixth-best among all cornerbacks in the league.
The Chiefs are allowing a second-lowest 18 points per contest. McDuffie and Chris Jones are the most important players in Steve Spagnuolo's defense. McDuffie should have earned his first Pro Bowl nomination.
Leonard Williams, DL, Seattle Seahawks
Leonard Williams' 9.0 sacks lead all interior defenders. Against the Los Angeles Rams in Sunday's Week 18 finale, Williams possesses an opportunity to become the first Seattle Seahawk with 10-plus sacks since 2018. He's been downright dominant for Mike Macdonald's defense this season.
Williams' 52 pressures rank eighth among his peers. He's been the highlight of Macdonald's first-year unit. Vita Vea and Jalen Carter were among the NFC defensive tackles that got in over Williams.
Kerby Joseph, SAF, Detroit Lions
It's difficult to comprehend how Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph got snubbed. Joseph has recorded a league-leading nine interceptions this year. Four of them have occurred in his own end zone. The second-closest player is two interceptions away (Xavier McKinney, 7).
The 14-2 Lions are playing the Minnesota Vikings for the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage this weekend. Joseph has kept Detroit's defense from crumbling following season-ending injuries to Aidan Hutchinson and Alim McNeill. The ball-hawking Joseph should be partaking in the all-star festivities.
