The 2025 Senior Bowl will provide an opportunity for NFL draft prospects to prove themselves on the largest pre-draft stage. Florida defensive tackle Cam Jackson plans on taking full advantage. Jackson recently spoke exclusively with the Senior Bowl and Draft Network to discuss his motivation for accepting his invitation to compete in Mobile, Alabama.

Jackson also discussed what he's striving to prove to NFL general managers and scouts in attendance at the Senior Bowl, proving himself as a pass rusher, how he’d write his own scouting report, and more. Let's get to know Jackson better ahead of his journey to the Senior Bowl.

JM: Where were you when you found out about your Senior Bowl invite and what was your initial reaction?

Cam Jackson: I was at the football facility. I was excited about it because I got it last year as well, but I decided to go back to school for another season. Getting that Senior Bowl invite in consecutive years, it was an exciting moment for me.

JM: That’s quite the accomplishment. What motivated you to accept the Senior Bowl’s offer?

Cam Jackson: There aren’t many people where I come from that reach this level. This is a special opportunity for a kid like me. Being able to take advantage of this opportunity, I’m going to have a great time, but I also want to show my city that anything is possible.

I want to show the kids from my city that anything is possible.

JM: We love that. You're an inspiration. What are you hoping to prove to NFL general managers, coaching staffs, and scouts in attendance in Mobile?

Cam Jackson: I’m looking to prove that I can rush the passer. That’s what I’ve been hearing. I know the scouts want to see me rush the passer. I want to show them I have some untapped potential.

JM: Some considered you an early-down run-stopper at Florida. I understand why you’d want to put more pass-rushing reps on tape. It sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder.

Cam Jackson: Yeah, that’s for sure how I feel. You hit the nail on the head with that one. I want to show the scouts that I’m more than a run-stopper. I have some pass-rushing moves in my bag as well. I want them to have a spark in their eyes when they watch me. I’m out to prove it to myself.

JM: Give me a full scouting report on Cam Jackson.

Cam Jackson: I’m a hard worker first and foremost. That would have to be on the scouting report. I’m gonna come in and work my butt off. I have a great personality. I’m a good kid and a good teammate. You have to know when it’s time for fun and when it's time to handle business.

I’m coming in ready to work.

JM: Do you see yourself playing a three-down role at the next level? It goes back to proving yourself as a pass rusher.

Cam Jackson: I can definitely see myself playing all three downs. That’s another thing I want to prove to the scouts at the Senior Bowl. I have a high motor and I don’t tire easily. That’s for sure.

JM: Would you compare yourself to any defensive tackles or nose guards in the league right now? Who do you enjoy watching and learning from?

Cam Jackson: I definitely love watching Dexter Lawrence. We have similar body types. When it comes to athleticism, I would say Chris Jones.

JM: Dexter Lawrence is a great size comp. Now that you’ve had time to think about it, how do you reflect on the decision to transfer from Memphis to Florida?

Cam Jackson: I feel like it worked out great for me. I learned a lot at Memphis. I had three terrific years there. Coming to Florida, playing in the SEC is the closest thing to the NFL. Playing against better competition prepared me for the next level. I was on national television every Saturday while competing against the best talent in the SEC.

JM: Are you looking forward to swapping jerseys with anybody at the next level?

Cam Jackson: I would love to swap jerseys with Quinnen Williams. For sure. My guy Calvin Austin as well, we played together at Memphis.

JM: The Cam Jackson and Calvin Austin jersey swap may be the biggest size difference ever. What’s on Cam Jackson’s pre-game playlist?

Cam Jackson: I listen to Lil’ Baby sometimes. I also listen to a little Youngboy Never Broke Again. It depends on the mood I’m in. I have some Lil’ Durk on there as well, but just a little bit.

JM: This has been a lot of fun. At the end of the week, what does a successful Senior Bowl look like for Cam Jackson?

Cam Jackson: I want to be a dominant force at practice. I’m going to have a lot of fun during the game as well. I saw the Senior Bowl rosters and I believe I’ll be on the same team as some of my teammates.

Being able to play with those guys again and have some fun together, that’s what it’s all about.
